Ingredients

  • 16 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Smoky Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a medium sized pot over medium heat.
  • Whisk everything together and let the sauce come to a light simmer (do not boil).
  • Once it begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture continue to cook for 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and let it rest until it comes to room temperature before storing. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.

Smoking Instructions

  • To add a smoky flavor, add the cooked sauce to a aluminum pan and place onto the smoker at 225 F. Use your favorite wood and allow it to smoke for 30-45 min. Remove and let it cool fully before storing.
