2sticksButter
1tbspFresh Chivesfinely minced
1tbspFresh Parlseyfinely minced
3Garlic Clovesfinely minced
1tspLemon Juice
1tspLemon Zest
1tspDijon Mustard
1/2tspWorcestershire Sauce
1/2tspBlack Pepper
1/2tspOnion Powder
1/2tspPaprika
1/2tspChili Powder
1/2tspDried Oregano
1/2tspDried Thyme
1/4tspCayenne or Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Do not let the butter simmer or brown.
Add in the minced garlic and spices. Let cook for 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the lemon juice, zest, and Dijon mustard.
Remove from the heat and add in the fresh chives and parsley. The butter should look like a cohesive sauce- if it looks like it separated, see the notes section below for tips!
Pour the cowboy butter into a serving bowl for dipping or over your favorite steak or beef cut, potatoes, veggies, and more!
Notes
Separation Issues- If the sauce is separating, remove it from the heat and continue to whisk until it is a little cooler. Add a splash of heavy cream into the mixture to help incorporate the ingredients if needed. For a Spreadable Compound Butter – Let the butter mixture cool to room temperature, then transfer to a long piece of plastic wrap. Shape into a log, wrap tightly, and refrigerate until firm.
