Low Carb Smoky Mezcal Paloma
Put down the margarita and pick up this refreshing, mezcal paloma instead! It’s bright, a little smoky, and something your next taco night needs!
Whether it’s Cinco de Mayo, #tacotuesday, National margarita day (cause I would say this still counts) or just another night you’re looking for a great cocktail, the smoky mezcal paloma is just what you’re looking for. This cocktail puts the classic margarita to shame with only four ingredients!
It features bright citrus grapefruit flavors, a hint of lime, and a nice smooth smoke flavor from the mezcal tequila. There are no added sweeteners, which also helps keep this cocktail lower in carbs while still being a refreshing choice at your next fiesta! “Class” Notes:
This cocktail is one of my favorites and it is so easy and quick to make too! I personally enjoy making this in larger batches as well, and often pre-juice several grapefruits and place the juice in a jar until needed. This is great for entertaining too.
In a cocktail shaker, simply combine the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and the mezcal. Mezcal tequila is very smoky, and definitely has a unique, almost savory flavor. Shake these three ingredients over ice until chilled and strain into a glass. Top off with a grapefruit club soda to keep it lower in carbs!
Pair this drink with my Keto Queso Fundido or these scrumptious Grilled Shrimp & Avocado Salad cups too!
