Love a good “kiss of smoke” and want to try your hand at grilling a ham and freeing up your oven? Get the perfect recipe for a double smoked ham!

What is a double smoked ham?

Store bought hams are already cooked and cured. That means  you're only ever reheating your ham on your grill and adding another layer of smoke flavor.

Cooking Tools:

– Cutting Board – Knife – Roasting Pan or Foil Pan Insertable Probe Thermometer – Foil – Small Pot – Measuring cups/ spoons – Whisk – Basting Brush

Start by prepping your ham by adding a cross hatch to the fat cap (not needed if using a spiral ham).

Add whole cloves if desired into the crosshatching for flavor. 

BONAPPETEACH.COM

Add stone ground mustard and orange juice over the top and place it on indirect heat on a 250 F. smoker.

Place it in a foil pan, cut side down and let it cook uncovered on your smoker for about 2 hours.

Meanwhile, prep the citrus honey glaze. Let the cinnamon stick and cloves steep for at least an hour.

Strain the mixture and reserve the liquid glaze.

Start glazing your ham, every 15 minutes for the last hour of cooking. Cover with foil so it doesn't carmelize too much.

Remove from the grill when the internal temp is 145 F. Let it rest.

Then slice and serve!
